Description:

Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. to "Bamie" (the childhood name of his daughter, Anna Roosevelt Cowles, and "Tedie" [sic], his son Theodore Roosevelt. Written from the Capitol Building, Roosevelt Sr. describes the building and what he has seen in it. He asks both children to be good and help their mother. Letterhead is colored reproduction of engraving of the Capitol.

The President of the Northern Pacific Refrigerator Car Company, the Marquis de Mores, writes to Theodore Roosevelt while in a jail cell awaiting trial for murder. He claims Joe Ferris is responsible for getting him indicted and he has read newspaper accounts of Roosevelt fighting with Mores. Mores wants to know if Roosevelt is responsible for the accounts in the paper because he thought Roosevelt was his friend.

Reed for not speaking out firmly enough in support of the gold standard when he cast a vote on legislation dealing with “gold bonds.” Lodge asks Roosevelt to “straighten out” George W.
